ICGEB China Regional Research Centre attended the 30th session of the ICGEB Board of Governors
The 30th session of the ICGEB Board of Governors took place on 22-23 May 2024 in Trieste, Italy. About 100 participants attended the meeting, including representatives from 57 Member States, Observer Countries and Multilateral Organizations. A delegation of ICGEB China Regional Research Centre, China Medical City and the China National Centre for Biotechnology Development, went to Italy to attend the conference.

Basic research and applied development of regional food resources-Hou Dexing
On March 19, 2024, the Center for Regional Studies invited Professor Hou Dexing, Director of the Department of Food Life Sciences, National Kagoshima University, Japan, to give a special lecture on the theme of "Basic research and applied development ofregional food resources", which provided new perspectives and ideas for the researchers of the center. In the future, the two sides will carry out closer cooperation and exchanges.

On March 17, 2024, students of biopharmaceutical major at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine Taizhou Campus visited the Regional Research Center, where Dr. Gu Yuexi from the center introduced the work of the center to the students and shared knowledge on oncology. On March 5, 2024, Dr. Yan Ge (a Principal Investigator at the ICGEB China RRC), was awarded the honorific title of “March 8th Red Flag Carrier in Gaoxin (Gaogang) District” (an award for women who have made significant contributions to the society). At the gala celebrating International Women’s Day 2024 (an event organized the Women’s Federation in Gaoxin/Gaogang District), Yan Ge gave a live speech about her experiences in science and teaching and about the missions of the ICGEB China RRC.
