ICGEB China Regional Research Centre attended the 30th session of the ICGEB Board of Governors

The 30th session of the ICGEB Board of Governors took place on 22-23 May 2024 in Trieste, Italy. About 100 participants attended the meeting, including representatives from 57 Member States, Observer Countries and Multilateral Organizations. A delegation of ICGEB China Regional Research Centre, China Medical City and the China National Centre for Biotechnology Development, went to Italy to attend the conference.
Dr. Yang Yili, the Director of ICGEB RRC, gave a presentation on the Center's development in 2023. During the meeting, Fan Ling, the Deputy Director of China National Centre for Biotechnology Development, had an in-depth communication with Lawrence Banks, the Director-General of ICGEB. They also had a discussion on the work of continuously promoting the quality and accelerated development of ICGEB RRC and restarting the international fellowship program.
After the meeting, the delegation visited ICGEB Biotechnology Development Unit, the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland, Puissan Biotech, CASA Di Cura Villa Anna Maria, and other research institutes and had intensive communication with researchers in related fields.
The conference promoted scientific and technological cooperation between China Regional Research Centre and other ICGEB member countries, helped China's biomedical technologies and products to go overseas, and expanded the international cooperation channels, which brought new opportunities for the development of biotechnology. In the future, ICGEB RRC will continue actively participating in international cooperation in order to promote the development of global biotechnology and make greater contributions to human health and well-being.
